This space is about advocacy, community engagement and sharing stories about life. My big project is a book called Audacity 2 Speak. It will be available in Summer of 2024.

Audacity to Speak is a book about overcoming obstacles, changing perspectives, and the journey to become the person I am today an artist, author, and advocate.

This space is to share about my new book. It is also a space to share about advocacy goals, partnerships in advocacy and my work as an advocate and artist.

“Reading “Audacity 2 Speak” by Alicia M. Hopkins took me on an unexpected emotional roller-coaster that made me feel seen in a way no other form of media ever has. Often times when stories are shared about a disabled person, their disability dominates the narrative. The limitations imposed by their disability tend to be the primary focus. Perhaps the reason this story hits my gut differently is because it was written by a person with a disability who is bold enough to highlight the bureaucracy that disables her further than her diagnosis.
